“Who Robs a Mourning Service?” — BamBam Cries Out Over Stolen Phone

BBNaija star and actress BamBam has spoken out after her phone was stolen during the emotional Service of Songs held for late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, expressing sadness and disbelief at the heartless act.

The incident occurred at the Monarch Event Centre in Lagos during the solemn gathering where colleagues and friends paid tribute to the departed actor. BamBam discovered her phone was missing shortly after the service when she got into her car.

“First thing that hit me was compassion. I was sad first because my contacts, my videos….my phone had everything and I hadn’t even updated my iCloud so a lot of my pictures and videos are not backed up.”

BamBam clarified that her personal assistant did not steal the phone, contrary to circulating videos and rumours. She explained that the trending clip showing her PA removing the phone from her bag was taken before they entered the venue, as a precautionary measure due to the rowdy crowd. The actual theft happened after the event.

“Please stop dragging my PA. She’s not the one. The phone got stolen after the event when we were exchanging pleasantries.”

She revealed that she was not the only victim.

“It wasn’t just my phone that was stolen. My friend, I think one of Alexx’s brother’s phones was taken? And another guy… Three of us were looking for our phones last night.”

The actress questioned the moral compass of the thief or thieves who targeted a mourning event.

“What would make any human being consider a service of songs a place to rob?”

The unfortunate incident has sparked widespread outrage online, with many condemning the audacity of individuals who would steal from people gathered to mourn.
