“Do More!” — Funke Akindele Blasts FG Over Oyo School Abduction

Nollywood superstar and box office queen Funke Akindele has joined the chorus of voices condemning the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, describing the incident as deeply heartbreaking.

The actress and filmmaker took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle to express her pain and concern over the safety of Nigerian children in their own classrooms. Her emotional post comes as families continue to wait anxiously for the safe return of their loved ones.

“DAYS ARE COUNTING!!! This is so heartbreaking. Our children deserve to feel safe in school, and parents deserve peace of mind.”

She directly called on the government to rise to the occasion:

“The government needs to do more to protect our children and secure our schools. No family should have to live with this kind of fear.”

The mother of twins concluded her message with prayers for the victims:

“My thoughts and prayers are with the affected families. May these children return home safely. Amen.”

Funke Akindele’s reaction adds her influential voice to other celebrities who have spoken out on the Oyo abduction crisis, including Lateef Adedimeji, Toyin Abraham, and several others who have demanded urgent action from authorities.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage across the country, with many questioning the state of security in schools and the government’s ability to protect vulnerable citizens, especially as election cycles approach.
