I’m Blind Now — Remi Aluko Shares Battle With Glaucoma

Veteran Fuji musician Remi Aluko, popularly known as Igwe Remi Aluko, has left fans heartbroken after revealing the devastating progression of his long battle with glaucoma, admitting he can no longer see.

The talented singer opened up during a recent emotional interview on Oyinmomo TV, where he gave a candid update on his health condition that has spanned several years.

“I’m a glaucoma patient. I’m managing myself. I’m currently not seeing. Despite being a glaucoma patient, many people don’t know. There’s no difference between me and a blind person now.”

He explained that although he has undergone eye surgery in the past, his vision has deteriorated significantly. The Fuji star, however, displayed remarkable strength and positivity, refusing to let the condition break his spirit.

“But no one knows because I don’t let my condition weigh me down. Thank God that I know how to take care of myself like someone who can see. I decided not to dwell on my condition because I don’t want to be depressed.”

Remi Aluko’s revelation has triggered an outpouring of love, prayers, and support from fans and colleagues in the Fuji music industry. Many expressed shock, noting that he had continued performing and carrying himself with such confidence that his struggle remained largely hidden from the public.

This latest health update revives memories of earlier rumours about his vision years ago, which he had addressed as glaucoma that was managed through surgery. His current disclosure shows the condition has returned with greater intensity.

Despite the heavy challenge, the Fuji artiste continues to inspire many with his resilience, determination to keep living fully, and refusal to be defined by his disability.
