Music executive and talent manager Ubi Franklin has opened up about the deep emotional pain he continues to feel after losing his elder sister to cancer, describing the grief as one that strikes unexpectedly even a year later.
In an emotional post shared on his social media, Ubi revealed how a recent moment triggered fresh waves of sorrow. He instinctively reached for his phone to call his sister, only to be hit by the painful reality of her absence.
“Tonight felt really heavy and emotional for me. I wanted to call her, and the realisation broke me all over again.”
Ubi described his late sister as more than just a sibling, she was like a second mother to him and the entire family.
“I lost my sister to cancer last year, and she was honestly like a second mother to me. Anytime anything happened in our family, she was always the person we called to settle issues and guide everyone.”
He had earlier paid a heartfelt tribute when she passed in 2025, calling her one of the kindest souls he had ever known and crediting her with shaping the man the public knows today.
The businessman and father’s latest reflection highlights the enduring nature of grief, especially when the deceased is family. His post has drawn sympathy and supportive messages from fans and colleagues.
