Nollywood actor Williams Uchemba has declined to comment on the marital status and alleged children of his late colleague, Alexx Ekubo, insisting it is not his place to speak on such private matters. His response came during a recent interview with The Am Show.
Uchemba, who was close to the deceased actor, emphasised the need to respect Ekubo’s wishes regarding his personal life.
“Though I do not think I am in the place to say because if Alex did want it like that, I think I would respect it. I would respect his will and he wanted it that way.”
He further explained that any official information should come directly from the late actor’s immediate family.
“If anything would come out from that, it would be his family. People have their decisions, some people would not want it out there or in the public. So, it is still best for his immediate family to say anything on it.”
His comments follow growing public curiosity and social media discussions about whether Alexx Ekubo was married or had children before his passing on May 11, 2026, after battling metastatic kidney cancer. The Ekubo family had earlier appealed for privacy as they mourned the actor.
Williams Uchemba’s decision to steer clear of the sensitive topic has left many praising him for showing maturity and respecting boundaries during a difficult time for the bereaved family.
