Nollywood comedian and actor Ayo Makun (AY) has shared a deeply emotional account of his final moments with late colleague Alexx Ekubo, revealing the pain of seeing the vibrant star still smiling even in death.
In a touching tribute following Ekubo’s passing on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 after a battle with cancer, Ayo Makun described the difficult reality he witnessed.
“Some losses do not feel real, no matter how many times you try to process them. Still struggling with the reality that you are gone, Alex.”
AY recounted being present at the scene:
“I was there. I saw you still smiling even in death. I saw the tears from friends and family. And honestly, a part of me is still in shock.”
