Nollywood actor Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele, has delivered a heartfelt message on the true meaning of fatherhood, emphasising presence and emotional support over mere financial provision.
While sharing adorable photos of himself bonding with his daughters from his current marriage, Itele reflected deeply on what it means to be a responsible father.
“Fatherhood is more than paying bills. It’s presence, protection, guidance, love, and sacrifice.”
He went further to salute men who are actively showing up for their children.
“To every man showing up for his children emotionally, mentally, and physically… respect.”
The message comes from a man who has had his own widely publicised struggles with fatherhood. In 2022, Itele faced heavy backlash after his second wife accused him of being a deadbeat father who neglected their children. He later publicly apologised, citing health and financial challenges at the time, and worked towards reconciliation with his children.
Today, Itele appears to be in a much better place, celebrating growth in his personal life, career, and family. He recently acquired a multimillion-naira mansion in Lekki and often shares moments of gratitude for his supportive wife, who stood by him during tough times.
