Nollywood actress and content creator Witney John has shared an emotional video on her Instagram (@WitneyJohn1), accusing her ex-husband of removing her name from a piece of land they jointly purchased and taking advantage of her support during their relationship. In the tearful clip, Witney described how the man she helped when he had nothing allegedly turned against her after their breakup.
Witney started off by revealing the betrayal that involved a joint land purchase.
“The man I bought a land with removed my name and put his own when it was time to get the receipt.”
She went on to explain that she entered a relationship with the man with the intention of helping him.
“This is a man that I started something with on the basis of help. When I met him, he couldn’t afford ₦500. I took him in.”
She recounted the painful aftermath of their breakup.
“When I broke up with him to start afresh, he took the land and bought a car in this same week that I asked him to move out.”
Whitney added that the he is now financially successful while she’s left with nothing.
“He’s worth millions now and he gets to leave whole while I become this broke—starting afresh.”
The actress revealed she had sacrificed significantly for the relationship.
“I was not blown but I was okay. Career wise, I could’ve been known in no time but no, I gave 8 years of my life once again for another man to break me.”
Witney said she was not posting the tearful video for sympathy but to explain her distressing situation.
“I’m not doing this video to get sympathy, but it’s painful to be starting over with two little kids in a house that the rent is expired. I’m broken.”
The video has drawn widespread reactions online, with many fans expressing shock and support for the single mother of two. Others have called for caution, noting that only one side of the story has been shared so far.
