“I Can’t Beg Anymore” – Iyabo Ojo on Funke vs Toyin Feud

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has broken her silence on the ongoing tension between colleagues Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, revealing her personal efforts to broker peace between them. In a lengthy Instagram post, Iyabo addressed fans who have been insulting her over the matter and clarified her role in trying to resolve the rift.

Iyabo explained that she and Funke Akindele have been friends for many years but had fallen out in the past, with fault on both sides. She admitted she once dragged Funke publicly because of Toyin Abraham’s movie, a move she now regrets.

“Funke and I have been friends for the longest, but there were times we fell out, fault on both sides. I once came online to drag Funke because of Toyin’s movie. That was a wrong move on my part, I should have handled it better. Funke and I later made up, and we addressed all our issues and put them behind us.”

When the feud between Funke and Toyin escalated, Iyabo claimed she stepped in as mediator. She described going to great lengths to bring the two actresses together.

“I tried my very best to settle both of them, cried, knelt down, begged both parties to embrace peace which they both later did.”

The mediation appeared successful at the time, with the actresses interacting publicly a few months ago. She claimed Funke and Toyin had agreed to two key conditions of handling any future issues privately and to avoid shading each other online.

Iyabo noted that the peace did not last. In December, Toyin Abraham complained publicly about alleged sabotage of her movie in cinemas, with some fans pointing accusing fingers at Funke Akindele. This reignited the beef despite the earlier agreement.

“Unfortunately, Dec came, Toyin made some complaints about her movie in cinemas claiming some people or person was trying to sabotage her, some fans pointed accusing fingers towards Funke, that sparked up a fresh beef.”

Despite her past mediation success, Iyabo has now decided to step back completely.

“Honestly, all this saddened me because the sky is big enough for all. I have tried my best, but at this point, I can’t beg anyone anymore. I honestly don’t want to get involved anymore.”

She urged fans to respect her decision and allow the two actresses to resolve things when they are ready.

“When both parties are ready, they will make peace. I love them both regardless.”

The post comes days after the public snub at the premiere of The Return of Arinzo, where Toyin Abraham greeted Funke Akindele but received no response. Toyin later unfollowed Funke and vowed never to greet her again.

Iyabo’s latest statement aims to set the record straight and shield herself from further backlash from a situation she had no control over.

Many fans have praised Iyabo for her honesty and past efforts, while others continue to take sides in the long-running rivalry between Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham.

Neither Funke Akindele nor Toyin Abraham has commented on Iyabo Ojo’s latest post. The situation remains a major talking point, with the public eagerly watching to see if the two actresses will eventually reconcile once more.
