“It Was a Setup”: Baba Ijesha Insists Entire Case Was a Trap

Veteran Nollywood actor and now convicted felon, Baba Ijesha, has once again insisted that he was framed in the 2022 case that sent him to prison, revealing new details in a candid interview on Fresh FM Ibadan with Yinka Ayefele.

Sitting down with the veteran broadcaster, Baba Ijesha described how he was allegedly enticed to the location.

“They called me with food — my favourite pounded yam, crayfish, egusi soup with bush meat — plus a movie role they said was already set.”

He explained that upon arrival he met people he believed were part of the crew and was asked to rehearse a scene with the young girl.

“I never knew they had already ganged up against me. One of them even swore she’d make sure I don’t come out alive.”

He openly admitted the combination of food and promised money played a role in his decision to go when asked why he fell for the trap.

“Gluttony is also part of it and the proposed money as well. I don’t like to snub or disrespect ladies, that’s why I agreed. God is my witness.”

Baba Ijesha maintained his innocence throughout the interview.

“I am not a paedophile, I am not a rapist. It was destiny that punished me. I didn’t even know what those words meant until this whole mess started.”

He also dismissed the viral clip in which he is accused of confessing, saying the full story will be told in a movie he is currently working on.

The actor described the situation as a betrayal by people he trusted in the industry and insisted the entire matter was orchestrated against him. The interview comes shortly after his appearance on Biola Adebayo’s Talk To B podcast, where similar denials were made, showing a consistent push to present his side publicly.

For now, the actor maintains he was lured and framed, while the public continues to weigh his words against the established court outcome.
