Influencer and content creator King Mitchy has stepped forward with a public apology to several high-profile figures, including the Ooni of Ife, Seyi Tinubu, VeryDarkMan, and others, following a wave of backlash over her recent online statements. In a video posted on her social media pages, Mitchy expressed deep regret for her words, framing the gesture as a move toward healing.

The controversy erupted earlier this month when Mitchy shared videos and posts that many interpreted as disrespectful or accusatory toward the Ooni of Ife, son of President Bola Tinubu, and activist VeryDarkMan. VeryDarkMan, known for his no-holds-barred social commentary, was among the first to call out Mitchy, while supporters of the Ooni and Seyi Tinubu amplified demands for accountability.

In her apology video, Mitchy addressed each individual directly, starting with the Ooni:

“I want to sincerely apologize to the Ooni of Ife for any disrespect shown through my words. As a custodian of our culture, you deserve nothing but honor.”

She extended similar sentiments to Seyi Tinubu, acknowledging the impact on family and public perception:

“To Seyi Tinubu, I’m truly sorry for the pain my careless remarks caused you and your loved ones.”

To VeryDarkMan, she added a note of mutual respect:

“VeryDarkMan, you’ve always stood for truth, and I regret contributing to negativity instead of positivity.”

Mitchy concluded by reflecting on the lesson learned:

“I’ve realized that words carry weight, especially online, and I take full responsibility. This is not who I am, and I commit to spreading better energy moving forward.”

The response from those addressed has been measured so far. VeryDarkMan acknowledged the apology on his page with a brief “Noted,” while representatives for the Ooni and Seyi Tinubu have not commented publicly.
