Limoblaze Backs Salem King’s Call to Honor Women’s Own Names

Christian music artist Limoblaze has added his voice to a growing conversation about respecting women’s individual identities after online personality Salem King publicly expressed irritation at people greeting him and immediately referring to his wife as “Mrs Salem.”

“I can’t stand people who say hi to me and call my wife ‘Mrs Salem’. She’s a human being, ask her her name!”

Limoblaze quoted the post and agreed emphatically, writing:

“Facts! I’m irritated when people call my wife Mrs Blaze. You’re talking about a first class degree holder and a University of Cambridge Alumni, an authority that has worked at the apex banks of both Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Stop Playing!!!”

Public reactions have been mixed but lean toward support for the core message. Some users praised both men for championing women’s autonomy, noting that addressing someone by their preferred name is a simple act of respect. Others argued that “Mrs [Husband’s Name]” is a traditional courtesy, while a few dismissed the issue as trivial.

When someone expresses a clear preference for how they or their partner wish to be addressed, honoring that request should be straightforward. Allowing assumptions or outdated customs to persist unchecked can diminish hard-earned identities, fuel unnecessary debates, and subtly reinforce outdated norms.
