In a lighthearted nod to the Nigerian music industry strange habits, Nigerian artist Bella Alubo recently took to X to highlight an uncanny resemblance between the cover of her 2020 EP “Popstar” and Wizkid’s blockbuster album “Made in Lagos.” Released just two weeks apart—Alubo’s on October 9 and Wizkid’s on October 30—the artworks both feature a hand thoughtfully covering part of the face and a similar font and style in the titling, sparking interesting conversations among fans.
Bella Alubo’s rise came after being spotted by talent scout Osagie Osarenz, the same figure who discovered Wizkid years earlier, bringing them together naturally as time progressed. Alubo has openly shared her admiration for Wizkid, even relating to the spirit behind his hits and eagerly anticipating his releases.
While Alubo framed the parallel as a genuine coincidence with “all love” for her fellow star, it stirred humorous debates online, from fans noting the commonality in the two covers.
