Nigerian gospel minister Nathaniel Bassey has shared a startling account of what he described as a failed spiritual attack by a traditional spiritualist, popularly referred to as a “juju man.”
Speaking during a worship session, the pastor said the man approached him along an express road, knocked on his car, and allegedly began casting what he described as an enchantment. According to Bassey, the encounter was not the first time the same individual had approached him.
He said the man appeared to be trying to command or influence him spiritually. But instead of reacting in fear, Bassey said he responded calmly.
“He was casting an enchantment, hoping that it would influence me. He was commanding me to do something, but I just stood there and laughed.”
The gospel minister said he immediately began declaring Bible verses on divine protection. He quoted the scripture:
“Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm.”
According to him, the man remained there, seemingly waiting for the spell to take effect. But Bassey said he held firmly to another biblical declaration.
“There is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel.”
He later stepped out of his vehicle and firmly ordered the man to leave.
“I came out of my car and ordered him to get out of here, you dirty devil, quick.”
Bassey admitted he later wished he had detained the man and contacted law enforcement.
He also made it clear that sharing the story was not about glorifying evil, but about highlighting what he believes is the reality of spiritual battles and the power of faith.
“I’m not saying this to boast… while we do not glorify the devil, there is wickedness in the world.”
