Veteran movie marketer Akeem Olatunji Balogun, popularly known as Olasco Films, has lashed out at actors Okunnu and Austin Emmanuel, describing them as “ingrates” following recent allegations against him.
The heated response comes after Okunnu publicly accused Olasco of withholding profits from a film produced for him 16 years ago.
“I haven’t forgiven Olasco,” Okunnu reportedly said, alleging the marketer pocketed all the money made from the project.
Austin Emmanuel had also earlier accused Olasco Films and Toymax Films of blacklisting him from the industry. He further claimed Toymax had an affair with his girlfriend, Aisha Raji.
But reacting in an interview with actor Tunde Ola-Yusuf, Olasco strongly denied the allegations and accused both actors of ingratitude.
He insisted Okunnu was well compensated at the time of production.
“Okunnu is like a blind man using a walking stick, and when he regained his sight, he threw away the walking stick that was guiding him when he was blind. That’s who he is for him to say he worked for me without pay. Okunnu collected N2 million from me to produce the movie for me 16 years ago. As at that time, production only cost between N700,000 to N1 million.”
Olasco also dismissed Austin Emmanuel’s claims, suggesting the actor was seeking attention.
“Austin Emmanuel wants to trend with my name. I assisted him to advertise the very movie that made him famous in my films, so he’s an ingrate.”
The exchange has sparked fresh conversations online about loyalty, contracts, and long-standing tensions within Nigeria’s movie industry.
