Nollywood star Destiny Etiko has publicly confronted colleague Ekene Umenwa following explosive allegations of gossip and betrayal circulating online.
The actress expressed shock and disappointment after claims surfaced that Ekene had allegedly been badmouthing several colleagues behind their backs.
The controversy erupted after upcoming actress Adanma Waller, also known as Priscawalls, released a video accusing Ekene of speaking negatively about multiple Nollywood figures.
She claimed Ekene made damaging remarks about several industry colleagues, including Ruby Ojiakor, Lizzy Gold, Chioma the Chijioke, Uche Nancy, and Chinedu Isaac, among others.
In the now-viral clip, Priscawalls warned that gossip can easily turn against the person enjoying it.
“You are enjoying the story today, tomorrow you might become the topic,” she said.
She further alleged that Ekene criticized nearly everyone around her, adding:
“Everyone of them has a bad backlog except her — the Saint… I dare her to come out and deny any of these things.”
Reacting via Instagram, Destiny Etiko appeared visibly shaken by the claims.
Her short but emotional message quickly went viral.
“Am I dreaming? Really. I tot we are sisters. Why the lies?”
Her response has now fueled intense debate across Nollywood circles and social media. The latest drama adds to a series of public tensions surrounding the actress.
During Ruby Ojiakor’s wedding celebration, a viral clip showed Destiny walking away on the dance floor, seemingly avoiding colleague Angela Okorie.
Angela later shared a cryptic message online, describing herself as “a light that makes darkness disappear.” She also claimed Destiny avoids direct confrontation but criticizes people online.
Destiny responded with bold photos and a declaration of self-confidence, describing herself as authentic, unapologetic, and unstoppable.
The actress is also locked in a legal dispute with Queeneth Hilbert, who previously accused her of snatching colleagues’ partners.
Destiny, through her lawyers, filed an N100 million petition demanding a retraction of alleged defamatory statements.
Queeneth has since responded by filing an application to enforce her fundamental rights, telling Destiny to meet her in court.
