Nollywood actress Biola Bayo has emotionally addressed critics while marking one year since the passing of her mother.
In a touching tribute shared online, the actress reflected on life without her mother and responded directly to those who have criticized or insulted her for not helping others as much as they expect.
Biola reminded the public that she is navigating life with heavy responsibilities of her own.
“I can’t believe I’ve been motherless for a whole year. It is well!”
Speaking candidly, the actress explained that people often judge her without understanding her personal reality; being both an orphan and a single mother.
“Before you insult me or hate me for not being able to help, remember I’m an orphan and a single mom too… not what I want or envisage, but what life throws at me.”
Despite the emotional weight, Biola said she is accepting her situation with faith and strength, trusting that God will always sustain her.
“I’m gracefully carrying my cross knowing fully well that God will never leave nor forsake me… as long as God lives, I can never be stranded.” She ended the message with a heartfelt tribute to her late mother “Continue to rest in peace, dear mother.”
The remembrance comes months after she previously honoured her mother on her posthumous birthday, expressing how deeply she and her family miss her and how much life has changed since her passing.
Through grief, responsibility, and public pressure, the actress says her faith remains her anchor and her message is clear: compassion should come before criticism.
