Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has finally explained why he no longer posts photos or updates about his children with his estranged wife, May Edochie, revealing that a court order restrains him from doing so.
The actor made the disclosure whileBA speaking on the KAA Truth podcast, hosted by Kel Armstrong Amobi, following persistent criticism online accusing him of abandoning his children.
Yul, who has been frequently dragged for only sharing moments involving his second wife, Judy Austin, and her children, denied the allegations, insisting that he remains actively involved in the lives of his children with May.
“I’ve heard a lot of things about people saying I abandoned my children. Sometimes I read those things and I laugh. If my children never come to you and complain, it’s funny because I’m in contact with my children,” he said.
The actor revealed that he recently sent money to his second son through May Edochie’s bank account to maintain proper records.
“I sent him money today. I sent it through the mother, so that the money keeps record of it,” he stated.
Speaking about his second son, who recently gained admission into the university, Yul shared details of their conversation around his matriculation.
“My second son just got into the university some months ago. He just did his matriculation a few days back, and we’re communicating. In fact, he told me about it a day before the time,” he explained.
Yul admitted he couldn’t attend the ceremony due to short notice but said he congratulated his son and encouraged him.
“You’re 17, and that was my age when I got into university as well. My parents were not even there when I did my matriculation. It’s time for you to be a man,” he told his son.
Addressing claims that he avoids posting his children intentionally, Yul clarified that a legal directive is in place.
“There’s also a court order. You know there’s a divorce case going on. Anything that has to do with my children, I shouldn’t post for their own safety,” he revealed.
He added that the directive applies to both children.
“My second son is 17, while the other one is about 8 years. They said no more posting of them. So it’s not like I don’t love them. They are my blood,” Yul said.
The actor concluded by stressing that issues between parents should never affect their children, despite the ongoing legal battle with his estranged wife.
