Portable Took Advantage Of Me — Ashabi Claims

Nollywood actress Omobolarinde Akinyanju, popularly known as Ashabi, has spoken candidly about her troubled relationship with controversial singer Portable, alleging that the artiste took advantage of her at a younger age and later became emotionally and physically abusive.

Speaking during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Ashabi said the relationship began when she was still young and vulnerable, adding that Portable “chanced” her and used the situation to his advantage.

“Portable chanced me when I was younger and took advantage of me,” she said. “Back then, he was caring, but everything later changed.”

Ashabi revealed that Portable, who is 32, already has 10 children, and that she is the mother of two of them.

Her revelation comes weeks after their relationship made headlines following a heated New Year fallout. During the online clash, Ashabi had told the singer to kill her, while Portable accused her of invading his home and attacking his family.

Portable, in a video shared on Instagram at the time, claimed Ashabi assaulted his pregnant wife and that guns were pointed at his children. He also alleged that Ashabi’s mother accused him of using spiritual influence on her daughter and questioned why he had not bought her a car.

Responding to those claims, Ashabi offered a different account. She alleged that the violence started when she visited Portable with her siblings to celebrate the New Year.

“He pushed me and slapped me,” she said. “He brought out an axe, collected all our phones, hit my younger brother in the eye, and slapped my younger sister.”

According to her, the situation became so intense that she had to run into his office to seek safety.

Opening up further about their relationship, Ashabi described Portable as a narcissist with severe anger and jealousy issues. She also addressed public criticism surrounding her choices, asking people to stop judging her.

The interview has sparked fresh reactions online, reopening conversations around toxic relationships, power imbalance, and emotional abuse involving public figures.
