A media aide to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Success, has publicly criticised Chioma Adeleke, wife of music star Davido, over her outfit to the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Davido attended the 68th Grammy Awards alongside Chioma, his sister Sharon Adeleke and members of his team, as he was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category.
Chioma, who made her first appearance at the global music event, wore a sheer dress that quickly sparked mixed reactions online.
Reacting via his Facebook page, Ossai Success expressed disappointment, saying her outfit did not properly represent Nigerian culture.
“I am disappointed in Chioma Davido’s dressing: She shouldn’t have been half-naked at the Grammy,” he wrote. He added, “She didn’t represent Nigerian culture well, embracing a half-naked, revealing Western style instead.”
The governor’s aide further argued that Chioma’s public image carries influence.
“As a role model to many Nigerian young ladies, her dressing internationally will negatively influence them,” he stated.
Ossai also directed criticism at Davido, saying he expected the singer to have stepped in.
“I also expected Davido to guide her better. Cultural representation matters, and it’s crucial. I am disappointed in Davido for allowing her to dress this way. I am really disappointed,” he wrote.
Ossai Success is known for weighing in on celebrity matters and social issues, often sharing his opinions on public figures and their influence on young people.
