There were tears of joy and celebration online as Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh announced that she has finally made peace with her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, after nearly a decade of very public disagreements.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the actress revealed that what once seemed broken beyond repair has now been restored, describing the reconciliation as an act of divine intervention.
Reflecting on their long and difficult history, Tonto said the past ten years were filled with “public battles, deep wounds, broken communication, bitterness, and pain,” but noted that healing has finally come.
“After ten long years of public battles, deep wounds, broken communication, bitterness, and pain, God stepped in. What looked ugly, impossible, and beyond repair has been touched by mercy,” she wrote. “Peace has replaced chaos. Respect has returned where anger once lived. What human effort could not fix, God healed by salvation, humility, and the sincere prayers of a child.”
Tonto also expressed appreciation to Churchill for choosing the path of peace, saying obedience to God made the reconciliation possible.
“I am deeply grateful to the father of my child Dr Kunle for yielding to God’s word and choosing peace. Obedience to God always births restoration, even when the road has been long and painful.”
She prayed that their renewed relationship would remain strong and serve as proof that healing is possible.
“May this restored relationship remain built on the solid rock of God’s mercy, protection, grace, and mighty hand.”
The actress used her experience to encourage people going through painful situations, urging them not to lose hope.
“To anyone standing where I once stood, tired, wounded, misunderstood, and believing nothing good can come out of the situation, please hear this: God has not abandoned you. Your story is not over.”
Tonto Dikeh and Churchill got married in 2015, but their union ended after two years. Their separation led to years of public accusations and legal disputes.
The actress had previously alleged domestic violence and other issues, while Churchill denied the claims. Over the years, both parties had also been involved in legal exchanges and public statements regarding defamation and family matters.
However, with this new development, it appears both have decided to move forward peacefully for the sake of their child.
Their reconciliation has since drawn reactions from fans, many describing it as a powerful testimony of forgiveness and maturity.
