Anu Adeleke, who has long claimed to be the daughter of Afrobeats superstar Davido, has once again brought the paternity controversy back into public focus, formally requesting a DNA test from the singer.
In a post shared on her Instagram page on Thursday, Anu made the appeal while reflecting on returning to school after the holidays and entering her teenage years. Posting alongside a photo of herself, she spoke about lessons taught by her mother and grandmother, including the importance of responsibility and staying away from “drugs, alcohol, bad company and bad behavior.”
She also opened up about her childhood experience, revealing that she was bullied from the age of six after telling classmates that her father was “Mr David Adeleke.” According to her, the experience caused her deep emotional distress.
Anu wrote that the situation led to “mental anguish,” adding that she had to seek help from a medical professional to support her mental health.
As she grows older, Anu said she now wants clarity about her identity and has decided to directly address the singer.
“As I transition into a young woman, I am respectfully asking Mr David Adeleke Singer @davido for a DNA 🧬 test to establish my identity,” she wrote.
“This test is between my dad and I. It is something I want. It is something that’s the right thing to do. Please sir, consider my request once you read this post. I also sent it to your DM.”
She went on to thank Nigerians who have shown her support over the years, insisting that the DNA test is necessary for her peace of mind.
“This DNA test is the right thing to do for me. God Bless you Mr Adeleke,” she added, signing off as Anu Adeleke, with the date January 15th, 2026, and location Ibadan, Nigeria.
The paternity claim is not new. In 2018, two DNA tests were reportedly conducted, both indicating that Davido was not Anu’s biological father. However, Anu’s mother challenged the outcome at the time, alleging that the tests were falsified and that she was denied access to a properly conducted independent test.
The issue has remained a subject of public debate for years, resurfacing periodically through statements, interviews, and social media posts.
As of press time, Davido has not publicly responded to Anu Adeleke’s latest request for a DNA test.
