Nollywood actor Muyiwa Ademola has opened up on why he was unable to attend the burial of his cousin, late actress Allwell Ademola, in Lagos.
The actor shared his grief in an emotional Instagram post alongside a photo of Allwell’s graveside, explaining that he was outside the country when the burial took place.
“It’s a final Goodbye Couz,” Muyiwa wrote. “The saddest part is my not being in the country to witness your final journey back home.”
Reflecting on life, death, and the fragility of time, the actor described his cousin’s passing as a painful reminder of how fleeting life can be.
“Your death is just another painful reminder that tomorrow is never promised. Each day we live is deducted from the days we would live on earth, each birthday we celebrate takes us closer to our final birthday. May we live long, amen,” he added.
Muyiwa Ademola also offered prayers in Yoruba, bidding his cousin farewell and asking her to greet departed family members on his behalf.
“Sun re o Omo Oba EniObanke Ademola, bami ki baba mi Awofe Ademola, ki Uncle Adetokunbo Ademola… o digba o! O di gbere!”

Allwell Ademola passed away on December 27, 2025, reportedly after suffering a heart attack at her home in Lagos. She was 49 years old.
Her final rites began with a Service of Songs and candlelight procession on January 8, 2026, held at Lagos State Television (LTV 8), Ikeja, where colleagues, friends, and fans gathered to honour her life and career.
She was laid to rest the following day at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos, with mourners dressed in white shirts and jeans, in line with the family’s request.
The late actress is remembered for her contributions to Yoruba and English-language films and the deep affection she shared with colleagues and loved ones across the industry.
