Birthday Blessing: Kemi Adetiba Unveils New Movie

Ace filmmaker Kemi Adetiba has announced a brand-new film project as she celebrated her 46th birthday, turning the special day into a moment of reflection and fresh beginnings.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the award-winning director shared a heartfelt message about growth, gratitude, and purpose, while revealing that she is officially working on her fifth film.

Reflecting on the past year, Adetiba described 2025 as a defining season in her life.

“I’m profoundly grateful for all the lessons 2025 brought my way. It stretched me, refined me, and unlocked new levels of growth… creatively, spiritually, and personally,” she wrote.

The filmmaker, known for blockbuster hits like The Wedding Party and King of Boys, said the year helped her fully embrace her calling.

“Last year, I truly came into myself. I embraced my gift, my grace, and the responsibility that comes with both.”

Expressing gratitude for her loved ones, she added:

“I’m thankful for the countless ways God has shown up for me. For my incredible family, my friends, and for my absolutely amazing husband… God really did me a solid in that department.”

The biggest reveal, however, came when Adetiba announced she is stepping into a new creative chapter.

“This new year now brings a new challenge… and I’m ready. I’m officially in pre-production for my fifth film… my Big 5.”

Although she kept the title under wraps, she teased fans with a working name.

“I’m holding the title-name close for now, so let’s call it #ThrBig5.”

According to her, the project will stretch her beyond familiar territory.

“This project pushes me beyond anything I’ve ever done before, creatively, emotionally, and technically. It marks my new chapter, and I cannot wait to take you along on this journey.”

She ended her announcement on a high note, declaring:

“Guys… LET’S TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!”

Kemi Adetiba reminded fans that, at her core, she remains deeply committed to storytelling.

“At my core, I remain what I’ve always been: a storyteller. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for growing with me. Thank you for building this community with me.”

Last year, Adetiba released the Netflix crime thriller series To Kill a Monkey, which generated massive buzz online. The series starred William Benson, Bucci Franklin, Stella Damasus, and Bimbo Akintola, and explored themes of cybercrime, loyalty, and survival.

With her “Big 5” now in pre-production, fans are eagerly waiting to see what Kemi Adetiba has planned next.
