Controversial street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has taken to social media to publicly call out his father, Mr Olalomi, accusing him of betrayal, financial misconduct, and emotional abandonment.
In a viral video that has since stirred reactions online, the singer alleged that his father took his personal belongings, including shoes and clothes, without his consent. Portable went further to question his father’s relevance in his life, claiming that his struggles began once his father became involved in his affairs.
Visibly angry, Portable compared his situation to that of late singer Mohbad, suggesting that his father was more interested in his property than his well-being.
According to him, his life was more stable before his father re-entered it.
“Anytime I have a police case, my dad will never show up for me. What is your importance in my life? You didn’t send me to school,” Portable said. “You are just like Baba Mohbad; you are always wearing my shoes and clothes. You can never inherit me. I will not allow you to do to me what they did to Mohbad.”
The singer also recalled his early struggles, alleging that his father refused to support him when he wanted to learn tailoring and failed to invest in his education. He further accused his father of cheating him financially while handling his house project.
“When I wanted to build a house and told him to handle it, he was always cheating me. A block of N300,000, he will call it N900,000,” he claimed. “Leave me alone and let me live my life. You scammed me.”
This is not the first time Portable has publicly criticized his father. Last year, following the sealing of some of his properties by the Ogun State government, the Zazu crooner accused his father of abandoning him during one of the most difficult periods of his life.
At the time, Portable claimed that he had entrusted his father with money meant for his building projects, but alleged that the funds were mishandled. He also questioned why his father failed to intervene or visit the police station when he was facing legal troubles.
Calling him a “bad father,” Portable said he had consistently supported him financially, only to feel betrayed in return.
The latest outburst adds to the growing list of family controversies surrounding the singer, once again placing Portable at the centre of Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity dramas.
