Drama Trails Peller After Restaurant Confrontation

Popular streamer and TikToker Peller has sparked heated reactions online after a public confrontation with a female stranger who allegedly insulted him at a restaurant.

The influencer shared his side of the story in a video recorded at the food spot, explaining that the incident happened while he was having a conversation during a visit to buy food. According to Peller, the unidentified woman complained that he was being noisy and went further to describe him as illiterate.

The comment reportedly angered the streamer, who said the insult was unprovoked and deeply disrespectful. He also expressed surprise at encountering what he described as open hatred outside social media.

Recounting the incident, Peller said:

“I enter [eatery] dey talk, this werey say I dey noisy. You wey go school, wetin you turn? No be 12 o’clock you go dey for side of road. First time in my life I dey see hater in real life. I just come buy food, this one come dey say ‘you’re too noisy’… say me na illiterate.”

Peller further questioned the value of formal education when, in his view, it does not always translate to visible success or stability. He noted that the confrontation escalated unexpectedly from what was meant to be a simple stop to buy food.

Since the video went viral, Nigerians on social media have shared mixed reactions, with many taking sides on the issue.

Reacting to the video, @1eskobarz wrote, “Omo, this will be my first time supporting this guy! The girl got what she deserved for not minding her business.”

Another user, @BigDowat, said, “I don’t like Peller like that, but she could have minded her business. That’s a public space and only the owners have the right to tell him that he’s noisy.” @Engrvirus commented, “Peller nor get joy walai. How e take look her shoe.”

Meanwhile, @itzIshola added, “If you think sey you craze, Peller craze pass you.” @Eiza_zzn also weighed in, saying, “Illiterate wey fit guide pass her. People no dey mind their business for this Lagos.”

However, not everyone sided with the streamer. @kevinfire offered a contrasting view, writing, “Why does Nigerian celebrities feel they can disrespect or think less of average citizens and feel everyone is suffering because they themselves manage to be popular?”

The incident has continued to trend online, reopening conversations around public behavior, celebrity privilege, respect in shared spaces, and how fame shapes everyday interactions in Nigeria’s entertainment and influencer culture.
