Popular hypeman and MC, MC Fish, has finally addressed the long-running controversy surrounding his crashed marriage to Nollywood actress Anita Joseph, firing back at claims that he depended on her financially during their union.
In a series of heated Instagram story posts, MC Fish dismissed the narrative that he lived off his ex-wife, describing such claims as false, insulting and deliberately misleading.
The hypeman, who says he has been active in the entertainment industry for over 15 years, began by defending his career and income.
“I’ve been an MC/Hypeman for over 15 years. You will be the fool of 2026 to think that I don’t work for my money. Because you can’t afford me doesn’t mean I don’t work,” he wrote.
Addressing the marriage directly, MC Fish stated that meeting Anita Joseph while working eventually led to marriage, but strongly rejected claims that she carried the financial burden alone.
“Marriage no work again and the next thing, woman dey feed me. I dare her to say she took care of the bills by herself in the 5 years of that marriage. Imbeciles everywhere,” he said.
The hypeman warned that he had deliberately avoided sharing details of what went on in the marriage but suggested he would respond if pushed further.
“Make we no start dey talk wetin we do for that marriage, but if anybody lie for my head, masala go burst and names go flow, so make nobody whine me,” he added.
In another post, MC Fish claimed he played a major role in shaping Anita Joseph’s public image and career growth during their marriage.
“I made her complete and whole as a woman in the eyes of the society. But because the story goes bad doesn’t mean you be blind to the truth,” he declared.
He further alleged that he supported her professionally behind the scenes.
“I helped you set up a business, I helped in the process of your monetization for all your social media. I was your PA, manager, PR at some point. You never used to move around like a VIP until you met me,” he claimed.
MC Fish also insisted he introduced security, protocol and structure to her lifestyle, questioning why he was now being labelled a “gold digger.”
“Na me start dey collect security and protocol for you. But yet, I am the gold digger,” he wrote.
Concluding his outburst, the hypeman stressed that the length of their marriage alone should silence critics.
“An Igbo woman stayed in marriage with me for 5 years and you clowns think for once she will stay if I’m not holding my weight of doing due diligence?”

As of press time, Anita Joseph has not responded to MC Fish’s latest claims. The exchange has since sparked intense debate online, with fans divided over the truth behind the failed celebrity marriage.
