Shaffy Bello Explains Why She Avoids Nigerian Road Trips

Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has opened up about her strong dislike for road trips in Nigeria, revealing that concerns about infrastructure and safety have shaped her travel choices and even affected her social life.

The veteran actress made the disclosure during a recent interview with media personality VJ Adams, where she spoke candidly about why she avoids long-distance road travel within the country.

According to Bello, while she enjoys road trips abroad, the situation is different in Nigeria.

“I prefer water and air transportation. I don’t like road trips. I can do road trips abroad but in Nigeria, no, thank you,” she said.

The actress explained that her decision is largely influenced by the state of Nigerian roads and security concerns, adding that she would rather fly or travel by water than risk extended road journeys.

Shaffy Bello further revealed that her stance has significantly affected her social engagements, as many people now assume she won’t attend events that require long-distance travel.

“I can only consider road trips in Nigeria only if the person I am going to see is extremely dear to me,” she added. “And everybody knows me now, they go, ‘Don’t invite her, she won’t come.’ Once it is farther than Ibadan, count me out.”

Her comments have since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians agreeing with her concerns, citing poor road conditions and safety issues as major challenges to road travel across the country.

Shaffy Bello remains one of Nollywood’s most respected actresses, known for her bold personality and unfiltered opinions on issues affecting everyday life in Nigeria.
