Nollywood actor Jamiu Azeez is ending 2025 on a deeply emotional and grateful note as veteran actress Opeyemi Aiyeola finally forgives him, marking what he has described as the best gift of the year.
Earlier this month, Entertainment Reporter recalled that Azeez had publicly apologised to Aiyeola, acknowledging that he had hurt her deeply and admitting that his journey in the industry could not be told without her name “boldly written” in it.
In a fresh update shared via his Instagram page, the actor announced that the long-awaited forgiveness had finally come through, expressing joy, relief and gratitude to everyone who intervened on his behalf.
“My sister has forgiven her boy ooooo. This is my best gift of 2025,” he wrote.
Jamiu went on to appreciate fans, friends and colleagues who pleaded with Aiyeola on his behalf, while giving special recognition to senior industry figures he described as his “industry fathers and mothers.”
“I want to say a very big thank you to all my fans, friends and colleagues who pleaded on my behalf and a special thank you to my industry fathers and mothers who reached out to plead on my behalf,” he added.
Describing Opeyemi Aiyeola in heartfelt terms, Azeez referred to her as his sister, mother, boss, mentor, number one fan, cheerleader and favourite of all time, thanking her for not only forgiving him but also giving him another chance.
“Thank you, ma, for forgiving me and also giving your boy another chance. You are indeed ABIYAMO,” he wrote.
The actor also admitted that the experience had taught him hard but necessary lessons, noting that his remorse was sincere.
“Your stubborn boy has learnt his lessons in a very hard way. I am truly sorry and sincerely remorseful for my actions,” he added.
Jamiu concluded the post by appealing to fans to visit Opeyemi Aiyeola’s page to say a word of prayer for her, acknowledging that the reconciliation was made possible through collective support.
The emotional reconciliation has since drawn warm reactions online, with many praising humility, forgiveness and growth within the Nollywood community.
