Social media drama has erupted following Afrobeats star Davido’s generous ₦20 million gift to content creator Carter Efe, as comedian Kolu has publicly accused Carter of cutting him off after he asked for his “share” of the money.
In a video making the rounds online, Kolu alleged that Carter Efe blocked him shortly after he reached out regarding the cash gift sent by Davido.
“The ₦20 million Davido sent to Carter, I asked for my own share and he blocked me”, Kolu said in the clip.
According to Kolu, his attempts to reach Carter afterward were unsuccessful, despite making several calls.
“I called Carter over and over again, he didn’t pick my calls”, he added.
The accusation comes just days after Carter Efe received widespread praise online when Davido fulfilled his livestream promise by sending him ₦20 million. Carter had earlier shared an emotional video celebrating the unexpected gift, describing Davido as a blessing and thanking him publicly.
While Carter Efe has yet to respond to Kolu’s claims, the situation has sparked mixed reactions across social media. Some users questioned whether Kolu was entitled to any portion of the money, while others called for clarity on the nature of their relationship and any prior agreements.
As of press time, neither Carter Efe nor Davido has addressed the allegation directly, leaving fans and followers speculating over the unfolding controversy.
