Reality TV star Tacha Akide and rapper Zlatan Ibile appear to have finally buried the hatchet, six years after their highly publicised “body odour” controversy that once split Nigerian social media.
A video currently circulating online shows the former Big Brother Naija housemate and the Zanku crooner dancing together and exchanging warm gestures at a recent event. The relaxed interaction has sparked conversations online, with many fans interpreting it as a clear sign that both parties have moved on from their past differences.
The drama dates back to 2019, during the BBNaija Pepper Dem season, when Tacha was disqualified following a heated altercation with fellow housemate Mercy Eke.
During the argument, Mercy accused Tacha of having body odour — a statement that quickly went viral and dominated social media conversations at the time.
Shortly after Tacha’s exit from the show, Zlatan Ibile released a video and music clip that many Nigerians believed mocked the situation. In the video, the rapper danced with perfume bottles while referencing the rumour, a move that drew backlash from fans who felt it was unnecessary and disrespectful.
Despite the outrage, Tacha took a surprisingly calm stance when asked about Zlatan’s actions during her first post-eviction interview.
“I didn’t see it as anything. I like Zlatan and I love his music, it’s all love,” she said at the time.
Her response earned praise from supporters who applauded her maturity, even as the incident continued to trend online.
While neither Tacha nor Zlatan has made an official statement confirming their reconciliation, their recent public interaction speaks volumes. Fans have since flooded social media with reactions, describing the moment as growth, maturity, and a reminder that time heals even the loudest internet controversies.
