Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has made it clear that she is not ready to accept the public apology tendered by her godson and colleague, Jamiu Azeez, choosing instead to speak through what she describes as her personal life rules.
Earlier, Jamiu Azeez had taken to social media to apologise openly to the actress, admitting that he had wronged her deeply. In his emotional message, the actor acknowledged Opeyemi’s role in his journey and described the hurt he caused as lasting and painful.
He admitted that he “acted childishly” and begged for forgiveness, saying he could not write his story without Opeyemi’s name “boldly written on it.”
However, Opeyemi’s response suggested that the apology has not moved her.
Taking to her Instagram page, the actress shared a video of herself and pointed followers to what she called two of her most important life rules, a message many interpreted as a direct response to Jamiu’s plea.
“You see rules no4 & 6,” she wrote. “NEVER LET EMOTIONS WEIGH YOU DOWN. NEVER LET THEM SEE YOU FINISH. plsssssssssssssss write them boldly in capitals for your own good.”
Notably, Opeyemi made no mention of Jamiu’s name and did not acknowledge his apology directly, fueling public reactions that she has chosen silence over reconciliation.
The development has stirred conversations online, especially given their past connection. Just last year, following the death of actor Junior Pope, Jamiu Azeez had cried out publicly about his struggles with depression. He revealed that he had been “dying in silence for two years,” sharing private conversations to explain his mental state.
At the time, Opeyemi Aiyeola had shown support. She praised Toyin Abraham for reaching out to him and expressed heartbreak over his condition. She also offered words of encouragement, urging him to hold on to his faith.

Her latest post, however, signals a different stance, one rooted in emotional boundaries and self-preservation.
As reactions continue to trail the situation, fans remain divided between calls for forgiveness and support for Opeyemi’s decision to protect her peace.
