Our Elders Deserved Calm Waters, Not Raised Voices — Wumi Toriola Makes New Public Reconciliation With Afeez Owo

Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has publicly tendered a heartfelt apology to veteran actor Afeez Owo, days after she first asked for his forgiveness at Odunlade Adekola’s Warlord movie premiere.

In a new video posted on her official Instagram page, Wumi visited Afeez Owo on a movie set to apologize again, this time kneeling before him in a traditional gesture of respect. The actress said she wanted to make her remorse clear and ensure that peace was fully restored.

Sharing the video, she wrote:

“I chose to apologize to our Legend because I am a true ambassador of culture and even in ‘anger’, our elders should be off limit. Also, because our elders deserved calm waters not raised voices. Once again to our Fans, friends, no more grudges. I have chosen Peace. Thank you for your forgiving self @officialafeezowo_fanspage @officialafeezowo.”

In the video, Wumi explained her decision to show up physically on set:

“I’ve come to beg popsy… as you know ‘omode o le mo eko je ko mara lowo’. I came all the way to beg him on set. And I found some people there as well that were not happy with that but we don’t care.”

Afeez Owo, responding in a light-hearted tone, addressed her fans while teasing Wumi:

“Can you hear what she said? I know that she has apologized now, but she will do it again. And if she does, it’s game over.”

The mood quickly turned warm after Wumi jokingly requested an apology from him as well, prompting playful banter and laughter on set. For the sake of peace, she urged that they should not “go deeper” into the matter and assured him that she would never be rude again. Their reconciliation ended with a warm hug, earning cheers from everyone present.

A woman who had earlier pleaded on Wumi’s behalf was also appreciated by the actress, who prayed for her kindness.

Before closing the chapter, Wumi issued a subtle warning to those hoping to exploit their misunderstanding:

She stressed that everything has been resolved and “haters” should rest, as peace has finally been restored between them.
