The controversy surrounding music icon Innocent 2Baba has deepened as his former manager, Kaka Igbokwe, confirmed that the viral video of the singer being arrested in London is real.
Kaka Igbokwe, son of the late music legend Christy Essien-Igbokwe and a member of 2Baba’s UK tour team made the revelation during an Instagram Live session with media personality Daddy Freeze on Monday night.
The arrest clip, which resurfaced online on December 1, 2025, shows 2Baba handcuffed and escorted by UK police officers at London’s Gatwick Airport after an altercation with his pregnant wife, Natasha Osawaru, who is also a lawmaker in the Edo State House of Assembly.
Speaking on the livestream, Kaka confirmed that the incident happened exactly as reported.
According to him:
“Everything you heard about the couple’s face-off was true.”
He narrated that the incident began shortly after their flight landed. Natasha reportedly became upset when she felt the singer abandoned her at the airport.
Kaka explained that upon arrival, fans approached 2Baba and ushered him into a store. The singer followed them, unaware that Natasha, heavily pregnant at the time was left behind.
When 2Baba eventually realized she was not with him, he rushed back in panic. Natasha, however, confronted him angrily, and the heated exchange quickly escalated. Airport security then intervened, and the “African Queen” crooner was handcuffed and detained by authorities.
Back in October, 2Baba had travelled to the UK with Natasha for a concert tour but missed the scheduled show on October 2, 2025. His absence sparked rumours that he had been arrested over a domestic dispute.
At the time, the singer denied the report in an Instagram video, stating that his absence was due to a medical emergency. He thanked fans and promised to make it up to them. Despite his denial, blogs and gossip pages continued circulating the story.
The controversy reignited after popular blogger Tosin Silverdam posted what he called “new evidence”, the arrest video on Instagram and X on December 1.
He captioned it:
“Video of Tuface Idibia Being Arrested by the Police in the UK After an Alleged Altercation with His Wife Natasha… The video is finally out.”
Screenshots from the clip show officers speaking to the singer outside a store before leading him away.
Silverdam also shared a separate video of the argument with Natasha, claiming she appeared “jealous of 2Baba getting all the attention.”
During the livestream, Kaka also alluded to deeper issues in the couple’s relationship, hinting that fans do not know the full story.
He alleged that Natasha has blocked several music collaborations, described her as controlling, and suggested that the situation in their home is “more complicated than people think.”
The revelation has sparked a new wave of conversation online, with many Nigerians revisiting 2Baba’s earlier apology video and his emotional confession, “I messed up… that’s not who I am.”
As fresh details continue to emerge, fans are now waiting for 2Baba’s official response, this time, with evidence contradicting his earlier denial.
