Afrobeats superstar Davido has once again melted hearts online after publicly declaring his wife, Chioma Adeleke, “the main event.”
Chioma had posted a lovely video of the couple at Davido’s elder brother’s white wedding, sharing a soft, intimate clip of them smiling and enjoying the moment. Captioning the video simply with “Us” accompanied by love emojis, she set social media buzzing with admiration.
Sliding into her comment section, Davido dropped the line that instantly became the highlight of the day:
“You’re the main event.”
Fans and colleagues flooded the comments, gushing over the couple’s chemistry. Actress Uche Jombo wrote “Asa,” while Uchenna Nnanna added “Ndi Oma.” Comedian Warri Pikin reacted with “Chi,” and actress Sarah Martins called her “Chom Chom Asa Nwa.” Davido’s aide Israel DMW commented, “Oga and Madam,” while nightlife mogul Cubana Chief Priest hailed her “Ada Imo.” Celebrities like Chidinma Aneke, Bukola Adeeyo, Etinosa Idemudia, and Nikos Adeleke dropped strings of love emojis in support.
The exchange comes just weeks after Chioma openly celebrated her husband, describing him as her “handsome husband” on his 33rd birthday. She prayed that God would “send permanent confusion and chaos at any gathering of evil” against them, adding that Davido still gives her butterflies in her stomach. She later surprised him with a private dinner and gifted him a luxury Hermes HAC Haut à Courroies bag, which he proudly showed off online.
Their romance has remained a fan favourite this year. In October, the couple sweetly marked their third wedding anniversary, with Davido noting it was “one out of three anniversaries” as he toasted to forever with Chioma. She responded with a heartfelt “Amen” and reaffirmed her love for him.
Just days before that, Davido had shared a handwritten love note reminding Chioma of his unwavering devotion, a message she reposted, calling him her “sweet husband.”
Their fairytale love story reached another milestone on August 10, when the couple held their white wedding in Miami. The star-studded event was attended by notable names including Aliko Dangote, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Obi Cubana and his wife, D’banj, Zlatan, and many more.
During their vow exchange, Chioma described Davido as her “love, best friend, and the calm in my storm,” promising to walk with him forever. Davido, in his vows, said Chioma “saw the real me and chose me,” calling her his healer and the woman God sent to show him unconditional love.
