Wumi Toriola, Afeez Owo End Beef at Warlord Premiere as Actress Kneels in Public for Peace

Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola and actor Afeez Owo have officially ended their weeks-long feud, sealing their reconciliation at the premiere of Odunlade Adekola’s new movie, Warlord.

A video shared on Thursday captured the emotional moment Wumi knelt before Afeez in a gesture of apology, with the pair smiling, talking briefly and exchanging warm hugs, signalling that the tension between them had finally been laid to rest.

Their dispute had dominated online conversations since September. It began after Afeez, during his interview on Behind The Fame – African List, described Wumi as someone who “only reacts when people push her” and “does not tolerate nonsense.”

Wumi, clearly displeased, fired back in a now-deleted video where she tackled both the comments and the medium through which they were made. In her words:

“So should we also go and rent a husband to hold the mic and spoil things? The person this sub is for knows it already. You’re an elder, please stop this. Must every rift now be dragged to podcasts? They gave you a mic, and you started talking rubbish. They gave you pepper soup, and you began blabbing. Am I a mad woman? Will I lash out if people don’t offend me? Despite all your unfortunate behaviours, I still respect you.”

The clash sparked intense online reactions as fans debated who was right or wrong.

But on Thursday night, both stars chose peace. The reconciliation moment drew applause from fans and colleagues present at the premiere, many of whom expressed relief that the actors had put aside their differences.

Social media users also praised Wumi’s humility and Afeez’s willingness to accept her apology, calling it a “beautiful display of maturity” in an industry often plagued by long-running feuds.
