Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has once again stirred conversations online after unveiling a free coffee stand for fans attending his concerts.
The singer shocked many when he shared a screenshot of the coffee booth via his Instagram story, announcing that fans will now be able to grab complimentary coffee during his shows. According to him, the idea is simple; no more dozing off at a Burna Boy concert.
The “City Boys” hitmaker hinted that the coffee station is a new addition aimed at keeping fans alert throughout his energetic performances.
The move comes just days after Burna Boy made headlines for calling out a fan he spotted sleeping during his performance. The incident went viral, sparking debates across social media. In response, Burna Boy later explained that he was only joking with his band and that people misunderstood his intentions.
Addressing the controversy online, he said he never disrespects fans and is dealing with personal battles that aren’t always visible to the public.
Burna Boy added that people “never post the good” he does but “go wild” whenever they feel he has messed up, a statement accompanied by an apology to anyone offended.
The introduction of the coffee stand has now triggered another wave of reactions, with fans expressing mixed feelings:
@dorise974 noted, “Even for a tired person, coffee can’t stop you from sleeping.” @Dominicwung added, “Business state of mind. Way to go, Burna.” @laide_ajanaku stated, “Introduce empathy and humanity.” @decentoscar said, “Odogwu is wise, can’t you see?” @vanchizzy added, “At this point, everybody get their own for body.”
@234woman noted, “Shey una see this man na real boy? Burna apologise, e no too hard na.” @eye.jay said, “Trash, who says coffee keeps people up?” @theresilientsinglemum suggested, “They should cancel him, he thinks he is dealing with Nigeria.”
While some fans found the gesture thoughtful and innovative, others called it unnecessary, insisting that coffee isn’t the solution to tired concertgoers.
Still, Burna Boy’s decision once again shows his willingness to experiment with new ways to engage fans, whether it wins hearts or sparks fresh debates.
