International gospel superstar Sinach and her husband, Pastor Joseph Egbu, have taken legal action against several bloggers accused of spreading defamatory rumours about their marriage on social media.
In formal notices issued on 21 November 2025, Thurrocks Associates, Solicitors & Advocates, acting on behalf of the couple, confirmed that three individuals have been served pre-action letters for publishing what the firm describes as “false, malicious and unsubstantiated statements” on Facebook and Instagram.
According to the legal documents, the posts in question alleged a marital crisis between the award-winning singer, famous for global worship anthems like “Way Maker” and “Victory is Mine”, and her husband, Pastor Egbu. The law firm states that these rumours caused the couple “severe emotional distress and irreparable harm to their global reputation, ministerial calling, music career, and business relationships.”
The legal notices demand the immediate deletion of all defamatory content from Facebook and Instagram, and a public apology to be published continuously for seven days on the same platforms.
The firm warns that failure to comply will lead to both civil and criminal defamation proceedings, with no further notice.
Sinach and Pastor Egbu categorically reject the allegations as entirely fabricated:
“The posts are false, baseless, and a deliberate attempt to slander their persons and ministry”, the letter states.
Despite the online drama, the couple say they remain focused on their music, ministry, and humanitarian work around the world.
They also expressed gratitude to fans who have stood by them:
“They appreciate the continued prayers and support of their millions of followers during this period.”
The legal team urged the public to disregard the false claims and warned content creators against weaponizing social media for defamation.
