New Revelation in Mohbad Case: Yomi Fabiyi Alleges He Possesses Video Of His Murder

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has made fresh, explosive claims in the ongoing controversy surrounding the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, insisting that he possesses a video that shows “how Mohbad was killed.”

In a viral clip posted on social media, Fabiyi said the video was sent to him during what he described as an extortion attempt, adding that he has since been targeted by individuals who want to suppress the evidence.

He revealed that he had written directly to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May 2025, stating in the letter that Mohbad was “murdered.”

According to him, the President’s office subsequently issued a directive to the Inspector General of Police to investigate and prosecute those involved. Fabiyi claimed that once the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID Abuja, took over the case from Lagos, “some suspects were arrested” and Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, also “turned herself in to the authorities in Abuja.”

However, he alleged that the case has since been “hijacked” and “is now being covered up.”

“Now they want to cover it up,” he said. “They are even asking the same suspects to write a petition against me over illegal arrests. This suspect wants to silence me because they want to use the video against you.”

Fabiyi claimed that these petitions challenge the very actions of the Inspector General of Police, while suggesting that offices under the Assistant Inspector General of Police, including SCID Annex, Alagbon, and Zone 2 should question why the suspects were arrested in the first place.

He alleged that the suspects had already been investigated for offences including murder, theft, conspiracy to commit murder, criminal intimidation, and conspiracy to intimidate.

Fabiyi also expressed fear for his safety, saying he is worried something might happen to him if he honours any invitation.

“They want to silence me,” he alleged. I only want justice for Mohbad and I will not be silent.”

Mohbad, who died in September 2023, remains at the centre of one of Nigeria’s most controversial celebrity investigations, with years of unanswered questions and public frustration over conflicting official reports.

Fabiyi’s latest claims have once again intensified calls for renewed transparency, deeper investigation, and a clear update from law enforcement authorities.
