Wizkid Under Fire as Old Tweet About Underage Girl Resurfaces, Davido’s Associate Icey Reacts

Davido’s associate, Icey, has raised fresh concerns online after Wizkid old tweets admiring an underage girl resurfaced, sparking heated debates about celebrity responsibility and child safety.

In the trending tweet from years ago, Bigwiz wrote:

“Damn!!!…dis gl is toooooooooooooo cuteeeeeeee!l!…bt she’s 14!…crying..she looks19! crying.”

Shortly after the post resurfaced on X (formerly Twitter), a user identified as @Toluwase_x claimed the Afrobeats star had already rushed to delete it:

“Wizkid don delete lol 😭💔 And his gullible fans will still claim internet bants doesn’t move him #stopchildabuse #childrensafety.”

But according to Icey, Wizkid didn’t delete everything. The associate dug up an older tweet from former EME boss Banky W, referencing the same incident and joking about Wizkid’s interest in the young girl.

Banky’s old tweet read:

“So, @Wizkidayo like this cute girl that came to say hi. Except she’s 14. I’ve told him EME no get rKelly money yet ohhhh.”

Sharing the post, ManLikeIcey questioned why the superstar deleted one tweet but left the other untouched. He wrote:

“What’s going on here? Wizkid deleted his ped*phile tweets but he can’t delete this one. Chai.”

The revived tweets immediately sent fans into a frenzy, with reactions divided across loyalty and morality.

A user, @splendid__0, defended him, saying, “He only admired her because she’s beautiful, he didn’t touch her afterwards.” Another, @trusted_interiors_, added, “This cat matter go long.” For @josepheenjossy, the outrage is unnecessary, “Why is this tweet just gaining attention, didn’t y’all see it that year. No one can bring Wizkid down just rest.”

But some saw nothing wrong at all. @annabel_amaka wrote, “So what’s the bad thing in what he tweet? Una just dey mumu unaself.”

The resurfaced posts have fueled a larger online conversation about child safety, old social media behaviour, and how public figures handle past content in an era where nothing on the internet truly disappears.
