Human rights activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, has made fresh allegations against Senator Ned Nwoko, claiming the lawmaker interfered with his estranged wife Regina Daniels’ private communications and planned to leak sensitive material from her phone.
Sowore made the allegations on his social media pages while commenting on the ongoing marital crisis between Nwoko and the Nollywood actress.
According to him, the issues surrounding the Senator extend beyond the reported unlawful detention of Regina Daniels’ brother, Samuel Ojeogwu (popularly known as Sammy West).
Sowore wrote:
“The outcry surrounding Senator @nednwokoforsenate goes far beyond the unlawful detention of his now-estranged wife @regina.daniels’ brother, Samuel Ojeogwu ‘Sammy West’. What we are witnessing is part of a larger, troubling pattern involving the exploitation of underage girls across borders and the misuse of state power.”
He alleged that he discovered a disturbing plan to weaponise Regina Daniels’ private information, including attempts to intercept her communication. Sowore stated:
“I discovered that he had intercepted Regina’s phone calls and was planning to release her private parts to the public.”
He further criticised what he described as long-standing allegations of intimidation involving certain operatives within the now-disgraced Nigeria Police Force, who, according to him, have repeatedly been accused of acting as private enforcers for influential individuals.
The actress has also given more insight into her troubled marriage in recent days.
A day earlier, Regina Daniels described her husband’s love as “toxic”, claiming that during their seven years of marriage, Nwoko never spent a night outside their home because she “held him well” in the other room, describing herself as a proud Delta woman.
She said she often hid under the identity of being “a big man’s wife” but insisted she was shameless about her pride as long as she was not accused of infidelity, something she said Nwoko never once alleged.
Regina also disclosed that she became pregnant for Nwoko before their marriage but later aborted the pregnancy with the support of a friend named Ann; an action she claims the Senator has held against her ever since.
Responding to Nwoko’s claims that she struggles with substance use, Regina called him hypocritical.
She also accused the lawmaker of locking her up, seizing her phones, forcing himself on her, and labelling her mentally unstable whenever she attempted to leave the marriage.
As of the time of this report, Senator Ned Nwoko has not publicly responded to Sowore’s latest allegations.
