I Was Dealing With Grief— Lady Burna Boy Kicked Out of Colorado Concert Finally Speaks Out

A woman identified as Chaltu Jateny has come forward as the fan Burna Boy ordered out of his Colorado concert alongside her boyfriend, after the singer complained that she was sleeping during the show.

In a heartfelt post shared on her social media page, Jateny said the experience left her “embarrassed and humiliated”, adding that Burna Boy had no idea what she was going through emotionally at the time.

She wrote:

“I am the girl that was kicked out of the show last night. I don’t even know where to begin, but that was very embarrassing and humiliating to myself and my boyfriend. Burna Boy could’ve handled that situation better than that. He had no idea what was going on with me and he didn’t even care to ask if I was ok.”

Jateny explained that she had been struggling mentally and emotionally following the death of her daughter’s father and had only attended the concert in hopes of cheering herself up.

“I have been mentally, physically and emotionally drained since my daughter’s dad passed away and I came to his show to put a smile on my face after everything that has happened.”

She added that the long wait before Burna Boy appeared on stage contributed to her exhaustion.

“He took forever to come out and I was tired. We paid to be there and if I wanted to close my eyes and sleep, I can do that. It is my money that I wasted, not his.”

Jateny also appealed to social media users to show empathy instead of mockery.

“And for all of you in the comment section being nasty, how about showing kindness because you never know what someone is going through.”

Her statement has sparked massive debate online, with many calling out both Burna Boy and the concert organizers.

@generalzquotes wrote, “Sometimes the loudest person in the room forgets the quietest one might be fighting the hardest battles. Respect goes both ways, performer or fan.” @nevylin.x urged legal action,
“Sue him.”

@halimah__jinadu added, “Like, he could have handled it better. You don’t know what people are going through. That was such a humiliating moment.” @debbytopaz commented, “The art & the artist are two different things… Burna no tryyy.” @neovoh criticized the event handlers, “The fact that the organizers allow Burna Boy do this is insane. They should sue him.”

As of the time of this report, Burna Boy has not issued any public response regarding the incident.
