Award-winning Nigerian rapper and YBNL boss, Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Baddo, has sparked conversation in the music industry after declaring Wizkid the greatest Afrobeats artist after Fela Kuti.
The statement was made during a recent press conference in Canada, where Olamide opened up about his admiration for Wizkid and their consistent musical chemistry.
“I am blessed to have collaborated with Wizkid on multiple occasions. You know Wizkid is the greatest Afrobeats artist ever after Fela,” Olamide said with conviction.
While many interpreted the comment as mere praise, Baddo clarified that their collaborations weren’t born out of strategic leverage, but rooted in authentic musical synergy.
The bold statement has since triggered heated discussions across social media, especially among fanbases of Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido.
Burna Boy had recently declared himself as the “greatest African artist after Fela,” while Davido often refers to himself as the “King of Afrobeats.”
Now, with Olamide’s recognition of Wizkid in the same conversation, debates are swirling again on who truly deserves the title of Afrobeats’ modern-day GOAT.
Whether it’s fan loyalty, streaming numbers, global impact, or stage presence, the argument continues louder than ever.
