Sola Ogudugu, the mother of Afrobeats superstar Wizkid’s first son, Boluwatife Balogun, has expressed her excitement and pride after her son achieved a historic milestone with his music debut.
A week ago, Boluwatife released his first single, “Champion’s Arrival”, officially marking his entry into the music scene. The young talent shared clips from his studio sessions, showing his mother and manager cheering him on as he recorded.
In less than five hours after its release, Champion’s Arrival debuted at No. 1 on major music platforms, making Boluwatife one of the youngest African artists to top the Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums Chart. Reports also reveal that his debut project is charting in 16 countries on Apple Music and has reached No. 71 on the UK Top Albums chart.
Reacting to the accomplishment, Sola Ogudugu took to her Instagram page to celebrate her son’s success and thank fans for their support.
“We did it, baby!!! @official_tifebalogun No.1. All Glory to God. And love to everyone who streamed Champion’s Arrival. Forever grateful. #ChampionsArrival”, she wrote.
Fans and celebrities have since flooded social media with congratulatory messages, praising the young artist’s early drive and his mother’s unwavering support.

Over the years, Sola has built a reputation for being a devoted mother to Boluwatife. From sharing his thoughtful birthday messages to proud moments like his first driving lesson earlier this year, she has consistently celebrated her son’s growth and achievements.
During Wizkid’s mother’s burial, Sola earned praise online after Boluwatife’s humility and affection toward his half-siblings went viral, with many commending her for raising him with good values.

Now, with Champion’s Arrival already making waves globally, many fans believe Boluwatife might be following in his father’s legendary footsteps, but in his own unique rhythm.
