Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has called for full accountability and prosecution of Senator Ned Nwoko over what he described as “serious criminal conduct and abuse of power.”
Taking to his verified X page, Sowore urged both Nigerian and UK authorities to investigate the Delta-born lawmaker following the disturbing allegations made by his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels.
“The case of APC Senator Prince Ned Nwoko has gone far beyond politics. It now points to serious criminal conduct and gross abuse of power, as revealed by his now-estranged wife, Regina Daniels”, Sowore wrote.
The Sahara Reporters publisher stated that under UK law, where Nwoko is a registered legal practitioner, marrying Regina when she was 17 years old would amount to a case of statutory rape if any sexual activity occurred thereafter.
“According to Regina Daniels, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko ‘married’ her when she was only 17 years old, legally a minor under UK law. Any sexual activity following that marriage would, under British law, amount to statutory rape”, he emphasized.
Sowore also referenced the actress’s recent claims that the senator introduced her to hard drugs while still underage and repeatedly forced himself upon her, stressing that such actions “are not mere moral failings but serious criminal offences that demand investigation and prosecution.”
He called on the Law Society of England and Wales and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to begin disciplinary proceedings before the Independent Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) to determine whether Nwoko remains fit to practice law in the UK.
“It is unacceptable for Ned Nwoko to continue parading himself as a lawyer in the United Kingdom while facing these damning allegations”, Sowore stated.
The activist further demanded that the Nigerian Police Force, the Ministry of Justice, and international human rights bodies take immediate action to ensure justice is served.
“We will not allow Ned Nwoko to continue using the now-disgraced Nigeria Police Force, his political influence, or illicit wealth to suppress victims, pervert justice, and trample on human rights in Nigeria or anywhere else in the world”, he warned.
Sowore concluded his statement with a powerful message that has since gone viral across social media platforms:
“Impunity has an expiry date — and that date is now.”
The activist’s bold call has reignited public conversation around the ongoing Ned Nwoko–Regina Daniels saga, prompting renewed calls for transparency, justice, and protection for survivors of abuse.
