Veteran Nollywood actress, Georgina Onuoha, has joined the growing list of voices calling for an official investigation into Senator Ned Nwoko following serious allegations made by his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels.
In a lengthy post shared on her verified Instagram page, Georgina urged the senator to step down from his official position to allow for what she described as “an independent and impartial investigation.”
According to her, the allegations levelled against the lawmaker are “grave and deeply disturbing.” She stressed that the matter has gone beyond a domestic dispute and should be treated as a criminal case deserving transparent legal scrutiny.
“Regina Daniels, you have said enough, child. Now, get a lawyer and plead your case. The Senator has the right to defend himself equally, as he has made serious accusations against his young wife”, she wrote. “What we are witnessing is yet another symptom of a failed system where power shields wrongdoing and justice is selectively applied.”
Georgina didn’t mince words in outlining the nature of the allegations, describing them as “claims of pedophilia, grooming of a minor, sexual coercion, forced rape, forced imprisonment, and drug enabling.”
“These are not family disputes,” she emphasized. “They are criminal allegations that must be investigated transparently and without bias.”
She further called on the Nigerian Police Force, the Ministry of Justice, and human rights organizations, both local and international, to intervene immediately and ensure justice is served without fear or favour.
“Senator Nwoko must step down immediately from his official position to allow for an independent and impartial investigation,” she said. “Justice must not be for sale. Power must not be used as a weapon of oppression. The Nigerian government and its institutions are on trial before the eyes of the world. Justice must prevail. The victim deserves protection, not persecution. The truth must prevail.”
In an earlier post, Georgina had also criticized Ned Nwoko’s public response to Regina’s allegations, noting that he was too quick to issue a statement that painted his wife and the mother of his children as a drug addict.
“Within less than 24 hours, he released a public statement portraying his wife as a drug addict. That decision to respond in such a humiliating manner raises serious questions”, she said.
As the controversy between Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko continues to unfold, Georgina’s comments have added renewed pressure on authorities to investigate the claims with urgency and transparency.
