Nollywood actress and ROK TV boss, Mary Remmy Njoku, has penned an emotional open letter to her junior colleague, Regina Daniels, amid the actress’s ongoing marital controversy with billionaire politician Ned Nwoko.
Taking to her Instagram page, Mary shared how deeply moved she was after watching Regina’s recent video, where she broke down in tears while discussing her brother’s arrest and her strained relationship with Ned.
“Dear Regina, watching your video this morning brought tears to my eyes. I practically watched you grow, in fact, all of Nigeria did. From a child into the woman you are today. Seeing that woman cry out for help on social media truly breaks my heart”, Mary wrote.
The mother of three expressed her dismay over the harsh comments trailing Regina’s situation, saying she was “appalled” by how quick people are to judge.
“As a mother of two daughters, I can’t imagine my daughters ever going through something like this. I pray that if they ever have to come online to cry for help (God forbid), and I’m not here, God will raise an army to speak up for them. Because this world can be wicked.”
Mary also used the opportunity to send a powerful message to Nigerian women, urging them to support one another and speak out against injustice.
“Dear Nigerian women, it could be any of us tomorrow. I don’t know what transpired in that marriage, and honestly, I don’t care to. What I do know is this, when a marriage ends, real men understand that even if she stops being your wife, she never stops being the mother of your children.”
She concluded by encouraging Regina to remain strong through the storm:
“My thoughts and prayers are with you, Regina Daniels, as you go through these trying times. No woman should ever have to suffer just because she chooses not to remain in a marriage. Stay strong.”
Mary Njoku’s post comes as several Nollywood stars and entertainers continue to rally behind Regina Daniels.
