Nollywood movie producer Stanley Ajemba, popularly known as StanleyOntop, has expressed his disappointment following Regina Daniels’ recent viral video addressing her ongoing family controversy involving her brother, Sammy West, and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
Taking to his Instagram page, the filmmaker, who has been one of the loudest voices publicly defending the actress in recent days, said he was “disappointed” by the tone and approach of the video, describing it as unserious and poorly timed.
“I must say I am disappointed with the video Regina Daniels did this morning. I can’t find any act of seriousness in that video and she wouldn’t have insulted Nigerians. Omg”, he wrote.
Stanley noted that Regina’s delivery made those advocating for her appear uncoordinated and “betrayed,” despite their private efforts to rally public support for her and her brother, who was allegedly arrested and flown to Abuja earlier in the week.
“This is unacceptable and I demand that the video should be deleted and redone. The video made us that are fighting for her look like idiots. The video dey shame and I feel betrayed”, he added.
Despite his criticism, Stanley reaffirmed his continued support for Regina but urged her to have more level-headed people around her during this sensitive period.
“But that won’t make me stop defending her and Sammy. Reasonable people should be around her while making more videos because she’s tensed right now. No matter what, I stand with you, but please choose your words wisely!”
He concluded by revealing that he had personally reached out to several bloggers and activists to back the #FreeSammy movement but now feels embarrassed by how Regina’s video was received.
“I know how many bloggers and activists I have privately chatted to support this movement, and now you have thrown us into shame,” he wrote, ending his message with heartbreak emojis.
The post quickly made rounds online, sparking mixed reactions from fans and social media users.
Instagram user @princesnarna commented: “The video just dey anyhow, make we talk true sha.” @succi_collections added: “She did not know how to react and manage the situation or should I say she just acted her age.”
Meanwhile, @sheddyoflagos questioned Stanley’s motive, asking: “Are you supporting her because you want her recognition or because this can happen to anyone?”
Another user, @blissfully_allday, mocked, “Regina take gbanna before the video.” While @mizz_dorah simply stated, “Truth be told, that video looks like a joke.”
