The ongoing tension between actress Regina Daniels and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has taken a new turn as her mother, Rita Daniels, publicly lashed out at the politician for allegedly ordering the arrest of her son.
On Monday night, Regina Daniels cried out on social media, claiming that Nwoko had arrested her siblings in a bid to pressure her to return to him and go back to rehab. The emotional post sparked widespread concern among fans and colleagues.
In a video shared on Instagram by Regina’s brother, Sweezy Daniels, he wrote, “Dey stress my mama no be your fault, we all go mad. I’ve never seen where violence is used to make peace. Pride wan kill you, bring your ego down and say sorry.”
Their mother, Rita Daniels, also took to social media to express her anger, accusing Ned Nwoko of using Regina to regain relevance and fame.
“You wanted someone with a high star to boost your fallen star,” Rita Daniels said. “If you think you can bite the finger that fed you, you’ll go down. My daughter supported your senatorial election with $10,000. We’ve been covering you up and making you feel like an Odogwu, you’re mad.”
Rita Daniels further vowed that her family would not stay silent if the senator continues to use power and influence against them.
This comes days after Regina Daniels alleged that she has been suffering domestic violence in her marriage. In a viral clip, the actress was seen crying, saying, “In my husband’s house, I am not a queen.”
Nwoko, however, countered her claims in a public statement, attributing their marital tension to her “battle with drugs and alcohol abuse.” According to him, his attempts to get her professional help have been met with resistance.
The senator also alleged that Regina had displayed violent behaviour at home, claiming she assaulted three domestic staff and destroyed property.
Regina’s brother, Sweezy, dismissed the senator’s claims, saying, “There’s no perfect couple anywhere,” while her sister, Destiny Daniels, shared photos of scars allegedly sustained by Regina, insisting she is not back with her husband.
As of press time, Ned Nwoko has not issued any new statement regarding the arrest allegations.
