Veteran music producer and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has shared a powerful message to Nigerian youths about the importance of prioritizing self-investment and personal growth over material luxury.
In a recent video shared online, the music mogul said that although he is financially capable of acquiring expensive items such as luxury cars or even a private jet, he deliberately chooses to channel his wealth toward knowledge, skills, and meaningful investments.
“I’ve been blessed enough for a long time to be able to afford any type of car that I want to buy, or even a private jet,” Don Jazzy said. “But I have more important things to take care of. Nothing beats investment, including investing in yourself and acquiring knowledge that you can charge people for.”
The producer, known for his calm wisdom and business acumen, revealed that he is currently learning Forex trading as part of his continuous journey of self-improvement.
“This Forex that I’m learning now, I’m investing in myself. Whether I like it or not, tomorrow it’s going to turn into something I can call a skill, something I have and can use”, he added.
Don Jazzy, who has consistently used his platform to motivate young Nigerians, emphasized that in today’s digital and AI-driven world, youths must learn valuable skills to remain relevant and independent.
“Don’t just be useless. Go and acquire a skill — whatever skill it is. Nowadays, it doesn’t necessarily have to be that you must be a doctor, lawyer, or engineer. In this internet and AI age, even if it’s carpentry, you can learn it”, he advised.
His message quickly went viral, sparking widespread admiration from fans and fellow creatives who praised him for promoting financial discipline, wisdom, and long-term thinking among Nigerian youths.
Social media users flooded the comment section with praise.
@mannequin_lordess wrote, “Dem dey tell person? Dem no dey tell person o.” @beeclassic_collections added, “Don Jazzy is just operating on a whole different level of financial wisdom.”
While @callme_sammyb noted, “Private jet is also an investment too though,” others like @j3r3myk3n teased, “Who stressed Don to the extent he had to put this out?”
As one of the most successful figures in Nigeria’s music industry, Don Jazzy’s perspective once again underscores his reputation as not just a hitmaker but also as a visionary mentor inspiring the next generation to think beyond wealth and focus on lasting value.
